I don’t have a crazy amount of time to train, I think we’ve all established that by now. And I’m never going to be one of those people that pushes out 100 miles a week. That just sounds painful. In miles and time. But my favorite way to start the day is with running. So I finally learned to “treat” myself by hopping on my treadmill and running a mile. This is where I spend a LOT of my time.
Sometimes I get to run two miles but it only takes 10 minutes to run a mile, right? And instantly, you feel better. This gets my heart going and my brain working (good Lord we know I need that extra boost there right now) and I just FEEL better. I had a friend say,
“Hey Tess! Nice! You’re doing two a days!”.
No. That would require more of a workout than one little mile. I don’t consider this a workout. It’s just a kickstart to my day to help me feel better. At the end of the day if I don’t get any miles in (by circumstances beyond my control dammit), then at least I got my mile in, right? It takes so little to amuse.
Meanwhile…I spent a lot of time at the grocery store last night. Remember the pharmacy debacle. I picked up some groceries, too. Yay! And in the process, I found this AMAZING deal. Once again, I’m going to lie. Remember I said I wouldn’t post photos of my food? *eyeroll*, I’m doing it man. I’m doing it. Because it’ SO awesome. Our local Kroger/King Sooper had Food Should Taste Good chips on sale. They are usually $2.69 per 5.5oz bag and instead they were 10 for $10. I bought 10 bags of Sweet Potato! These chips are All natural Tortilla chips. Gluten Free, they are loaded with fiber, whole grains, low sodium, no trans fats and they just make me happy. I don’t know about my East coast friends but here in CO they pass them out at races (I usually grab two bags). But hello…what the heck am I gonna do with the chocolate stuff they pass out? So not helpful to me 😉
