Ten Miles

I did my ten mile run last week. It felt slow, but not painful.  It took me 1:44. Could I have done an additional 5k? Eh….only if I had to. It probably wouldn’t have been pretty.

I came to two conclusions on that run:

1. An evergreen wreath with a red bow on it should not still be hanging on your front door in March. I will give you until Valentines Day due to the red of the bow…..but that’s it!

2. I need more songs on my iPod or I need to be a faster runner. I ran out of songs at about the one hour, forty minutes mark.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  1. Your long run is SUPPOSED to be slow. EXTRA slow. EXCRUCIATINGLY slow. No joke. You did great.

What kind of music do you like??

Ditto on the decorations. That’s just bad.

  2. You might be surprised at my playlist. That’s for another post, another day.
I’m considering an audiobook for the twelve hour…..I mean twelve mile run. Read anything good lately?

    1. I probably wouldn’t actually. I’ve heard it all with running playlists. As for good audiobooks, it would depend on what you think you could run to. I have found it’s easier to run to a slightly “lighter” book than say an Oprah book. I really liked “What Alice Forgot” by Liane Moriarty. I read it but I think I would have liked it on audio. I read “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed last year and liked it so much I’m reading it again. I bet it’s good on audio, too. I really recommend that book on audio or as a regular book. Really really good. The Soldier’s Wife by Margaret Leroy was really good, too. It depends on what you like to read I guess. My choices are all so different although none are fantasy or sci fi if that’s what you like.
