Not really. Just a double post day. To not overwhelm. Only…it’s kind of overwhelming.
First thing I hit the treadmill again for an easy three miles. My legs were finally feeling the thirteen miles of the previous Saturday and it was getting harder to go up and down stairs. I figured if I kept them moving it would only be good for them.
We drove into town this time, stopping at a roadside florist to pick up some bouquets so we could drop them at the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. I don’t always have the time when I’m in the city, but I do try to do it whenever I’m there. Just a quick stop to leave the flowers and blow them a kiss.
We tried to get a tour to Alcatraz but they were completely booked through next week (in the summer they are booked months out) so we took a ferry ride around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate. I love ferry rides so this was a pretty awesome way to start the day on the docks.
From there we walked. We started out at the Ferry Building and walked the entire length down to Ghirardelli Square, alas to no avail. The lines were incredibly long and I have no patience so we turned around and headed back. I was looking to grab a few gifts but settled for other things.
At the end of the day we rushed to the car, paid an exorbitant fee for parking and drove to the airport like we knew what we were doing.
My legs were definitely feeling it. I was definitely looking forward to sitting on an airplane for several hours and then having to stand quickly and get moving. *sarcasm
I wish I had on a pedometer this weekend. Pretty sure I walked as many miles as I ran.
I’ve been to San Francisco more times than I can count and I never tire of it. This trip, though, may rank as my favorite. I can’t wait for the next time. Thanks for being patient while I posted as many days as I was there. 🙂
